Read the five-layer filtration as a barrier system
A KN95 respirator uses five layers of nonwoven filtration, including a melt-blown or HEPA filtration media that captures fine particles, dust and aerosols. The filtration media is what gives KN95 its high-efficiency rating, so the quality and basis weight of that media matter more than the total layer count. A well-formed melt-blown core is the first thing to check on a specification sheet.
- Five-layer nonwoven construction
- HEPA filtration media for fine particles
- Melt-blown quality drives the protection level
