Define your custom mask specification before you ask for a quote

Start with the mask you want to sell: three-ply construction, melt-blown filtration level, ear loop or tie-on closure, and the certification your target market requires. A clear specification lets the manufacturer quote accurately and avoids rework. Confirm the filtration standard (such as EN 14683 Type IIR or ASTM F2100), the fluid-resistance level and the packaging format, because each choice changes the material, the tooling and the unit price.

OEM vs private label: know the difference

OEM means the manufacturer produces the mask to your specification, while private label adds your own packaging and branding on top of that. Confirm which option you need and the minimum quantity for custom printing and packaging. Private label usually carries a higher MOQ than plain OEM production, because custom packaging and printing require dedicated tooling and setup.

Custom packaging and printing usually carry a higher MOQ than plain packaging. Confirm the MOQ and production lead time before committing, and ask for a written production schedule that separates raw-material arrival, production start, quality inspection and dispatch dates. Build in buffer for sea or air freight to your destination so a single delay does not push your whole launch.

Verify the certification file names the exact model

For export, confirm the custom mask carries the certification your market requires — CE for Europe and FDA for the US. The file must name the exact model you are ordering; a certificate that covers a similar but different mask is not proof your order is compliant. Confirm whether the certification can be issued under your brand or remains under the manufacturer's name, as this affects how you market the product.
